LET THEM WONDER
Andrea Pacini —
In the film Jaws, you don’t see the shark for most of the movie.
Director Steven Spielberg made that choice on purpose.
By keeping the creature hidden, he let the audience’s imagination do the work – building tension and fear better than any visual could.
When you present, think of your storyline like Spielberg’s shark.
You need a clear structure – but you don’t have to reveal it all at once.
Let your audience feel the structure rather than see it.
Skip the agenda slide. Ditch the roadmap. Instead, draw them in. Make them wonder what’s coming next.
The same applies when you run a workshop or training session. The scaffolding should be solid. But your audience doesn’t need to see the scaffolding – they just need to trust that the experience is going somewhere meaningful.
A well-structured presentation doesn’t need to announce itself.
